Beckam Glen Cooley Born 3-2-2012 at 6:46 am
I want to write down his birth story so I can always remember it.
I was really hoping to have him on leap day, so that morning I went to the doctor and had him strip my Membranes (painful!!!!!) After the appointment I went to Costco and was walking all around, however no contractions and no baby. Thursday the 1st I started to feel some contractions. Not anything consistent but more than Braxton Hicks. I walked a lot that day but never felt the need to go to the hospital. That night around 9 my contractions were getting harder and closer together. I called my mom and she suggested we go to the Hospital. We were worried about that fact that I tested positive for Strep B and needed to get the antibiotics before he was born, it can cause major problems for the baby if I didn't get the antibiotics. So my mom picked up the kids and Free and I proceeded to the hospital.
At this point I was feeling hard contractions harder than I felt with Brayden and Eliza. So I get to the hospital and already Katie and my mom had posted it on Facebook that I was there.... They check me and much to my chagrin I was only at a 4 no progress. They kept me for an hour and checked me again and no change. I was feeling very frustrated at this point because I know I was having contractions, however they decide to send me home. Yeah I was that pregnant lady being sent home no big deal if it is your first but this was my third and it was already all over Facebook! I went home and Free went to sleep. I would fall asleep for a bit and then wake up with a contraction. I went into the other room to turn on the TV. For 4 hours I attempted to sleep with the contractions becoming more and more painful. Around 4 Freeman woke up because I was screaming in the other room in pain. He came in and told me we should go back, however admittedly I did not want to go back afraid they would send me home again. I called the doctor and he still wasn't sure I should go in. Well after having 3 strong contractions within minutes of each other Freeman made me go back to the hospital. (luckily the kids were still asleep at my parents house, not sure how they would have reacted to their mom screaming in pain!)
We get to the Hospital and I could barley walk to the front door, I had to stop a few times. The security guard saw me and didn't hesitate to unlock the door for us! We get in and the nurse that sent us home sees us and takes us back. The contractions were so strong that I had to have Free come in and help me change into the hospital gown.
The nurse checks me again and says "well you're staying" I was ready to cry, I thought that I was still at a 4 and had no change, I asked and she said "Oh no you are at an 8" that was awesome news! They then gave me my antibiotics and talk about pain! I felt like my whole left arm was going to burn off. It was horrible feeling extreme burning pain in my arm while having strong contractions. Needless to say I was ready for the pain to be done!
While they were wheeling me to the delivery room another preggo came in screaming that her baby was coming! They had to carry her to a delivery room, so crazy!
I get to the room they give me an epidural and then the doctor comes in. He breaks my water and Bam, tells us it is time to push!!! After 45 minutes of pushing Beckam is Born!
9 pounds 12 ounces 22 inches! My biggest baby!
Really now I hear that I probably could have done it without the epidural and that I felt the worst pain, I was just so tired and done with pain, I thought it would get worse. Of course easy to say that now when I am not feeling it!

Braydenisms
I want to write these down so I can remember them. The boy has just been cracking me up lately.
Last Sunday Freeman and Eliza were sick so just Brayden and I went to church. On our way to church Brayden says: "Does Daddy know more than you?" I respond: "Some things he knows more then me and some things I know more than him." Brayden then says: "Like Baseball?" Yep he is observant cause I absolutely know more about Baseball than Freeman!
Brayden was talking to Freeman and he was telling him how if you stinker in class you get your card turned to Yellow, he then asked Freeman "If you stinker in your class do you get your card turn?" Freeman then explained that he does not have cards in his school Brayden's response. "Then how do you stay good in class?" Then he asked Freeman if Recess was his favorite thing. I think Brayden was dissapointed to learn that Daddy does not get Recess.

On the Sunny Side
I figure it is time for a positive post, so here it goes:
1.As tough as this pregnancy has been I have made it 33 weeks! Only 7 or hopefully less weeks to go and the other positive is this is the last time I will ever be pregnant woo hoo!!!!
2. I love Netflix! I'm totally addicted but what was awesome was I have been feeling very achy all over so I found a yoga for pregnant women instant on Netflix and it has helped me!
3. I have 5 citrus trees! 3 of the best orange trees(seriously the best oranges!) one lemon and one pink grapefruit, I love having citrus trees!
4.I have the best parents, my mom has been coming and helping to get my house organized the problem with moving in and not originally organizing your house is it is a heck of a lot harder to do it later especially being so pregnant. Also my mom and dad came over and helped me to hang pictures and decorate my house! I still have a ways to go but it looks so much more like a home now!
5. I have a huge kitchen! It may have pink laminate counter tops but I know that one day we will put granite in. I admittedly even still have empty cupboards first for me.
6. I love my calling I seriously think playing the piano for primary is the best calling. I get to hear all the fun things the kids say without having to keep them quiet or teach them a lesson, and my preparation is me practicing the piano which I love to do!
7.I love my yoga pants! I wear them practically everyday, Free is really nice and doesn't say anything mainly because I tell him they are the most comfortable and I am just getting too big for anything else. I love that I can get them from Victoria's Secret they will let me choose the length! Any other place and they are just way too short for me.
8. So Kori keeps getting me hooked on these book series and I am loving it. There really is nothing quite like being hooked to a book. Currently I am reading Matched and it is great, I am almost done I just need to get on the wait list for the next one.
9. I have been hanging out with friends a lot more recently and it is been so nice to be social. We even had a girls night last week it was fun to just hang with the girls and no kids! We have also done park days which has been great!
10. I love feeling the baby! It's so fun when I can feel is leg or arm, he is one active little guy, I also get the feeling he will be big!

Summer or Winter
This is a long post and I really do not expect people to read this it is more so I can have this down as my journal and to remember my feelings. Especially if for some reason I become baby hungry again!
Throughout this pregnancy I have been asked on multiple occasions if it is better to be hugely pregnant in the Summer or Winter. Brayden was born in August so I dealt with the heat being 8-9 months pregnant and it was no cake walk. I was dealing with high blood pressure, I retained a lot of water. In July I went to the beach with my family (despite my doctor not really wanting me to go) I did a stupid thing and got sunburned and I am not kidding when I say that my legs swelled up to at least 3 times their normal size. My skin looked like it was ready to rip off!!! That was the hard part about having a baby in August. Now in the winter being 31 weeks pregnant it is nice to not be burning hot or uncomfortable because I am hot all the time. However this has been my hardest pregnancy....
I started to get pregnancy symptoms on my trip to Australia (Freeman loves to tell people that he sends his wife to Australia and she comes back pregnant) obviously I was pregnant before I left and didn't know. When I came back from my amazing trip my sickness started to get worse and I was dealing with major jet lag (not a good combination) so I was sick with migraines and throwing up and constant nausea while it was 110 or higher outside. That was majorly hard. Finally after the sickness lasting longer than it has with my other two pregnancies I start to feel better. Then Freeman gets sick which he passes to all of us. I take care of everyone and then get sick myself, Bronchitis and an ear infection which then causes me to loose my hearing. Side note the great thing about having a husband that is going to be a pharmacist is that he can make sure the medicines I take are pregnancy friendly. After weeks of the sickness and no hearing Brayden gets a nasty flu, which I stay up with him all night next Eliza gets it and of course I get it. I spent a night throwing up and the next day not able to move out of my bed.. Well kids are smart and Eliza saw that I was stuck in bed and she decided to cut her hair, now she has a really cute bob cut that her aunt Melanie gave her. My awesome mom picked up Brayden from school and made me a fruit smoothie, did my dishes and picked up Eliza which was wonderful. While I am still recovering from the flu I get a call from the doctor that I have a UTI (which makes sense why I was feeling so terrible)Taking a second dose of Antibiotics causes other kinds of issues I don't want to go into. Yes I am complaining but this has been a hard pregnancy. Part of the reason I am writing all of this is that I have also been extremely emotional, I have wondered if during all of this I have been dealing with pregnancy depression. I know that I have not been the nicest person and have probably offended many people. I have been more open and blunt with how I feel and If I have offended anyone I am sorry. No one really knows what a hard time I have been having.... Plus it has been hard having Free gone all the time I feel like I never get time with him and we have needed it...
Needless to say I would take a summer pregnancy over this Winter one. Actually the best was having Eliza in November, I did not get all the non pregnancy sicknesses and I didn't suffer high blood pressure. So my advice would be to go for a Nov/Dec baby!
I am very excited to have this little guy because despite everything that has been going on he is totally worth it! A little less than 9 weeks to go!
I really will try to make my next post a positive one, I do not want to be a negative person I try to always be positive!

Caregiver
Last night around midnight Brayden came into my room vomiting. Poor guy and no fun for us having a big mess to clean up. The night proceeded with him throwing up every hour, I stayed on the couch with him to help him (he really didn't want to be alone) So today he has spent the day on the couch, no fun to see your kids so sick. Eliza has been so sweet. She gets him blankets and water. She made herself an egg and was so worried about Brayden trying to get him to eat one. She said she would put his cups away when he was done. She has this sweet Caregiver side to her, whenever I am sick she is always bringing me water and food. What a good Sister and Daughter!!!

I surrender!
Every day I commence in battle against my sweet little Eliza. For a few years now she has been picky about what she wears. At first it was that she would only wear dresses, which was not a problem, I just quit buying pants and shirts for her. Last winter she had no problem wearing leggings with her dresses. This winter I have been fighting another battle. Now if her leggings are not extremely tight in the waist or the right length then she refuses to wear them. So I let her go out without leggings only to have the entire walk consist of her crying because she is too cold. Now many of her dresses that she used to wear she refuses with some strange reason. I took her to Old Navy and had her try on some dresses where she picked the ones out she liked, however now she Refuses to wear them. Along with this is her hair, I try and try to do her hair only to have blood sweat and tears. Her hair has to be extremely tight and her head is super sensitive. Many times when I do her hair within minutes it is taken out. So I am saying that I surrender she can wear what she wants and if you see her most likely her hair will not be done, the fighting is just not worth it. Needless to say I am very glad this next one is a boy.....
